Hello readers and random strangers ^.^

Just sharing the news with all that I have won a poster competition today

The brief was to design and make a poster advertising vouchers that will be used in our little town of Virginia (no relation to America ) starting Monday November 16th 2009. There is no 'use by' date on the vouchers, they will literally be valid for years So to all of you locals or visitors, (quoting myself), "SHOP IN VIRGINIA WITH SHOPPING VOUCHERS!"

We went to the Riverfront Hotel at 9pm today. I was given a no. 10 'ticket' for free food and drink.
Funny thing about 10. I didn't know if there was going to be a fee to get in or not, so I took 10 euro And although its Friday 13th today, 10 is my favorite and as it turns out my lucky number
I didn't spend the ticket on the free food and drink because I went home after the winner was announced, I'll keep it for memories

So, to continue, there were 14 entries in total, named from A to N, and I was a 'G'.
I wasn't the 10th this time. Instead, I was 1st

I honestly didn't think I'd have a chance in winning the competition, there were many beautiful artworks there ^.^

I was relieved, happy and surprised to be chosen as the winner, I put a lot of effort into the poster and it certainly has paid off

I got very, very nice comments from the Jugde who's also a graphic designer - it felt awesome to get such good comments from a professional

He was very surprised when I told him I haven't used watercolor paints before, he said I have a great hand and he loved the detail of the forest that I painted and I hit it 'spot on', and matched his criteria 100%

To the very small group of people that are actually proud of me: thank you SO much!!

And to the rest of you, those who ignore me now that I've won and those who were so bloody shocked that something I've done actually won i.e. you who don't believe in me and think I waste my time doing art: I pity you fools.
